Contact Lens Health week is an ideal time to take a look at your contact lens hygiene habits. Many contact lens wearers are guilty of the habits shown above from time to time.
To keep your eyes healthy, make sure to practice these habits as much as you can:
- Take out your contacts before going to sleep. Leaving them in overnight can increase the risk of eye infections.
- Replace your lenses after the prescription expires. There are many benefits to having an annual comprehensive eye exam. Many eye diseases are not obvious at first, but can be detected by an eye doctor before symptoms begin to show. Early detection is key in managing and preventing the progression of many eye conditions.
- Replace lens solution each time you clean your contacts. Dump the old solution rather than watering it down. Your eyes will thank you!
