James G. Gardiner Announced as New Executive Director of MSO

​The Massachusetts Society of Optometrists is pleased to announce the appointment for the position of Executive Director. The MSO Search Committee and Executive Board has  selected James G. Gardiner to serve as the next Executive Director. 

Jay has a diverse leadership background in government, non-profit, education, and public health. Several of Jay's   former positions include; Commissioner of Health and Human Services for the City of Worcester, Executive Director of the Molly Bish Center at Anna Maria College, and Executive Director for the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Massachusetts. Mr. Gardiner professional background includes leading several legislative efforts in Massachusetts, proven organizational leadership, successful fundraising experience, and strong communication skills. Jay lives in Grafton, MA with his wife Marie and three children.

"On behalf of the MSO, we thank Rich for his years of dedication to optometry, and we welcome Jay's passion and leadership as we continue to move the profession forward", said Brian Wadman, OD, President of the MSO.

The MSO Board is pleased to welcome Jay as the next MSO Executive Director. This appointment will be publicly announced at the annual meeting on June 8th.
