Saturday's Patriot-Ledger, based in Quincy, ran an op-ed written by MSO President Dr. Matthew Forgues strongly advocating for passage of S.2334. Dr. Forgues explains that no other state prevents patients from getting treatment for glaucoma by their primary care optometrist. He also cites the bill's strong support on Beacon Hill from over 100 co-sponsors in the legislature.
The legislature has until July 31st to pass S.2334. The bill would allow optometrists to treat glaucoma. All other 49 states allow optometrists to treat glaucoma, and have for over a decade.
